GE Appliances Opens Water Heater Plant in South Carolina

GE Appliances, a Haier company, has opened a $70 million water heating manufacturing plant in Camden, South Carolina, a site that will serve as the company’s Center of Excellence for water heater manufacturing and was built for future expansion.

The new plant includes advanced systems for metal fabrication and welding, robotics for material handling and processing, and enameling of the steel.

Initially, the plant will produce gas water heaters under the GE brand.

In 2020, GE Appliances announced the launch of its Air & Water Solutions division, a channel dedicated to serving the needs of professional contractors and wholesale distributors in the plumbing and HVAC industry.
